Facebook can be used in many ways! My profile can only be seen by my friends, and I don´t need to belong to, or even read the pages of any group. I can write messages to my friends (all of them or just a few) when they are asleep in a different time zone and I get their messages and pictures etc when I have time to go to Facebook.
There may also be a lot of trash, but I don´t need to touch it.

I have never looked at Facebook, so I find it perfectly easy to be "at peace" with my own "docile thoughts". I couldn't care less what people are saying on Facebook. Just because Facebook exists doesn't mean that anyone/everyone has to participate. Ignorance is still often bliss. The same goes for YouTube and probably thousands of other similar sites. Judging from the football and even crosswording blogs I have read, most bloggers' ideas of grammar, spelling and punctuation are at best appalling and at worst non-existent. Who on earth wants to read this trash? Abstinence is often mentioned as the best way of avoiding sexual problems such as STIs and unwanted pregnancies. As with sex, so with Facebook, YouTube and other internet rubbish.

I am extremely happy to see the "old" column of BfF in the new version!

I was afraid the change means also forgetting about some constant parts of the paper version (yes, I am a "traditionalist"...). I was almost sure it will mean forgetting about one of my favourite parts of BfF, Journalist's tales, not too strictly connected with literature, but always very interesting from the literary point of view (yes, I enjoy the style of writing represented by J. Lehtola - and the translator :), as well as brief - and funny - sharpness of his comments on the media reality of Finland).

Looking forward to reading more of the traditionally interesting material of BfF in the new version! (Yes, I admitt there are also very positive sides of having the whole content of BfF always "at hand" - in the net :)
